Jiamusi
Jiamusi is in the northeast of Heilongjiang province, the hinterland of the Three Rivers Plain converged by Heilongjiang river, Wusulijiang river and Songhuajiang river. It’s from 45º56´ to 48º28´ North Latitude, 129º29´ to 135º5´ East Longitude. Jiamusi and Kharbarovsk、Birobjan Russia face each other across Wusulijiang river and Heilongjiang river. It is known as the first oriental city that greets the sun rising earliest in China. So it’s called “the Eastest Point of China”. Jiamusi has a jurisdiction over 4 districts and 6 counties. Total population is 2.505 million including 825,000 in urban district. Total area of Jiamusi is 32,700 sq.km. It is a center of economic, finance,science and technology, transportation and culture in the northeast of Heilongjiang province.
Abundant natural resources: Jiamusi is an important agricultural base. Total area of cultivated land is 23.63 million mu, the output of cereals and foodstuff is more than 6 million tons. Total soybean yield is 857,000 tons, total rice yield is 1,510,000 tons, total corn yield is 1,130,000 tons in the year of 2007. The contents of the vegetable fat and protein of the local non-genetically modified soybean are higher than the imported. There are also gas and heat resources. There is geologic condition of producing oil and gas in Jiamusi. The prospected reserve of gas is nearly 10 billion m³. The exploration showed the abundant petroleum. Jiamusi is rich in terrestrial heat resource, it strongly overflows and the highest temperature can reach 60℃. So it can be used for the concentrated heat supply, bath, convalescence etc. It really has exploitable value.
Huge market: Jiamusi is the central city in the east of Heilongjiang province. There are city groups of millions of population each. These are Hegang、Shuangyashan、Qitaihe、 Yichun、Jixi,ect. There are 29 large stated farms, 2 forestry bureaus and 1 railway agency in the area of Jiamusi. The population of Jiamusi economic zone is 1,200 million, it forms an economic circle in the east of Heilongjiang province. Jiamusi is the collecting and distributing center of coal、wood、cereal、other resources and products in the economic circle. Annual commodities sale in the economic circle is more than 50 billion RMB. Jiamusi is geographically in the center of the northeast Asia economic circle. People can go into the Tartar channel、Japan sea、on the new eastern water silkway of the north Pacific from Nikolaevsk on Amur Russia.
Solid industrial basis: There are groups of enterprises in large scale in Jiamusi. The complete industrial system with enterprises is famous in China such as Jiamusi electric motor co.ltd、Jiamusi coal and mine machinery co.ltd、John Deere Jialian harvester co.ltd、Harbin brewery (Jiamusi Jiafeng) co.ltd etc. The electromotors for special purpose、the heavy-duty tunneller、the large harvester and the industrial use paper made in Jiamusi got good fame in both domestic and oversea markets. There are also some enterprises to produce food、medicine、linen textile、glass and cement. Jiamusi gradually formed the three main industries—organic food, new materials,machinery, medicine and chemical, high bio technology industry.
Sufficient energy supply: Jiamusi is among four coal resource cities which are rich in cheap coal. More than 20 billion tons local coal has been verified. Total installed capacity of power in Jiamusi is 61.4 million KW, annual output of power is 3 billion KWh. The investment of 3 billion RMB of the sixth period extending project in Jiamusi Power Plant is going into operation and it can increase installed capacity 600,000 KW, it can increase capacity of power supply 4 billion KWh. There are clean power resources such as hydraulic power and windmill. Huafu and other windmill projects had been put into operation. Heilongjiang river, Songhuajiang river, Wusulijiang river and other 118 rivers are in the area of Jiamusi.
Abundant land: Total acreage of Jiamusi is 32,700 KM². Jiamusi is forming 7 new industrial bases and 11 top centers as service core to plan a platform of industrial zone when agriculture is developing. Being lack of industry land in economic developed area, but enough land resource in Jiamusi can offer the investors necessary and enough land.
A base of talents: There are a large number of skilled technical workers in Jiamusi because of the solid industrial basis. The technical workers of average trained over 10 years’ experience are above 70% of the total workers in Jiamusi. There are many science research institutes. Jiamusi University is one of the largest universities in Heilongjiang province. 36106 students now are studying in Jiamusi university and 6797 students graduated from Jiamusi university in the year of 2008. Developed transportation network: Jiamusi is the transportation center in the northeast of Heilongjiang province. There are four trunk railway lines to domestic. (G010) and (G201), the two state expressways pass by Jiamusi. The national and international air lines to Beijing,Shanghai,Dalian,Guangzhou,Qingdao,Shenyang and Kharbarovsk Russia had been opened. It’s convenient to reach Russia、Japan、Korea、South Korea and the area nearby the Pacific along Heilongjiang river.
Convenient thoroughfare to Russia: Jiamusi has 449 KMs border to Russia. There are five national trade ports in first grade facing to Russia. These are Jiamusi、Huachuan、Fujin、Tongjiang and Fuyuan. There are also two highway trade port and an air trade port. The nearest and biggest city -Kharbarovsk has large population and resources in Fareast Russia. After return of Fuyuan delta and the Tongjiang bridge construction, many commercial opportunities on cooperation can be found.
